looks like the boys at tenue de nîmes have a world exclusive on their hands. we’re talking momotaro’s
cycling shorts, the first pair of sports jeans we have ever heard of.
made of 10.5 oz japanese selvage denim, woven by shuttle looms, it’s a
surprisingly light-weight and also durable fabric. adorning the back
pocket are two reflecting stripes which even gained approval by the
japanese ministry of transport. shop location: elandsgracht 60 [centrum].

designer jason miller presented his new work and projects for the first time at the icff
earlier this month. interestingly, his recent work is inspired by the
transition of idealism of the 60s to the ‘me’ culture of the 70s and
the populist idea of luxury. from his concise new collection, we
particularly like the modo chandelier.
consisting of a spoke-and-hub system allows it to be
configured in dozens of different ways, to create lamps of almost any
size and shape. all the parts are custom cnc-milled from solid aluminum. the modo chandelier and other items are available online at jason miller.

we like art that’s offbeat…and in offbeat places. that’s why we’re mesmerized by the höhenrausch [thrill of heights] show, launching fri - may 29 at 7 rooftop locations across linz. part of the art in the city trilogy, the works of a string of international contemporary artists is displayed high in the sky, including pipilotti rist, shaun gladwell, shih-yung ku and the magnificent atelier bow-wow. the tokyo-based architects created linz super branch,
a sculpture and a stairway to heaven at the same time, serving as a
bridge into a different land. stepping onto it, you leave everything
else behind: the daily rat-race, job stress and anxiety. how appealing
is that?
